Like, it’s not just ‘being shy’.
Forever ago, I wrote about being an Introvert. It was a time where I was pretty okay at writing for my blog, but I also wasn’t past the threshold of saying whatever the fuck I like on my blog. See, I just dropped an F-bomb there for effect.
Now though, I’m a little wiser and life has not been afraid to show me who’s boss.
My Blogging Notebook is full of all the tools I need to be better at this writing thing.
Before I began to get organised as a blogger, I just landed on WordPress and began writing. Now, I document almost everything I do! Here’s what you’ll find in my Blogger’s Notebook, and why I think you should keep one!
If you’re reading this, you’ll be interested to know that this is the first post I’m writing in the re-launch of my gaming posts. I’ve written about two in the past, then I had a confidence break. I didn’t think anyone would want to read about my favourite hobby! I asked some female bloggers that write about gaming if it can work and yes it can! I just didn’t look around enough to see it.
So, here goes!
I’ve been thinking a lot about my blog lately. I’ve made a LOT of mistakes with it.
The thing about it is, I fed myself a lot of lies about it. I made it seem, in my own mind, like it would just grow alone and one day I’d wake up with a great big following. It doesn’t work like that at all though, does it? So, I coasted along for months with this line of thinking and nothing happened. I didn’t grow, my readers fell – sometimes I got less than ten views.
I often wonder – why do I need to bother with Instagram? In a sense, it is an invaluable asset to a blogger but it truly is hard to master. The more I think about it the more I realise it really stands out as the best way to engage with your blog following and potential readers of your blog!
In January of this year, 2018, I wrote a post about writing the first chapter of a novel. Writing is something I’ve always loved so I decided to really, really try my hand at the book writing thing. I spent days writing that first chapter, I put thousands of words in. Then due to a series of things that happened in my personal life I didn’t go near my writings for a few months. When I read them again I made a crazy decision! Throw it out.
As part of my mission to grow my blog this year, I wanted everyone to get to know me a little better! Having a lifestyle blog, I weirdly fail to express and share snippets of my life like I should and I want to change over the coming weeks. I’ve been trying to improve my Instagram too, but I’m going to hop into that in another blog post soon! I hope in these posts you’ll get to know the Maggie behind the blog and you’ll find something in common that’ll keep you coming back to the Muser, after all that is why I write – for you guys!
